When you have a writer for a wife you would think that she would write your bio. No dice.  Don’t expect a Pulitzer Prize here and since I’m more of a sarcastic realist, I won’t always give you the same daisies and roses spin put on the rest of the family. Hopefully it’s entertaining though. (Yes, for those of you playing the home game, I’ve used that intro 3 years in a row.  It’s still true.)

Photography:  Due to life being, well, life, I didn’t spend as much time on this as I thought that I might. That isn’t to say though that it wasn’t a growing and fruitful year. Far from it.

Last year I had the distinct honor of being able to spend a day taking portraits for 13 families. This year when MOPS asked if I wanted to do that again, I jumped at it without hesitation. This time it was over 5 weekends and almost 30 families. I can’t wait to do it again next year!

Here are my photography highlights from this past year.

Futbol: As I looked at what I wrote last year about this subject I can almost say “ditto” for this year. While still my greatest inner passion; this took a little bit of a back seat this year. I still played a couple of times a week for most of the year, but it stopped being fun again, mostly due to my crappy play.  At the end of May I ended up taking almost 4 months off due to injury (knee) and taking care of Jamie during her kidney recovery. What bothered me during that time, and yet didn’t, is that I didn’t really miss it.  I’ve recently started practicing and playing again and the love for The Beautiful Game has slowly returned. I did also enjoy catching all 64 World Cup games this summer.

Drumming: Enjoying each time behind the kit for my church Worship Team. One of the most enjoyable drumming times this year was when I had the honor of playing during the Mile High Ministries annual Christmas Store, which helps inner city poor families buy Christmas gifts.

      Miscellany:

-      Spent a great week in NY and DC with Tommy.

-          Went on a great fishing trip to MT Massive Lakes in June.

-          Enjoyed another 3-day guys hiking/fishing trip (with Johnathan) in August.
